Open Access Week (OAW) is a global event that aims at promoting open access to science and education. Universities, higher education institutions, research institutes, research funding institutions, libraries and analytical centres use this time to obtain support for the concept of OA and organise debates on economic benefits of the use of new organisational and business models, which would expand the scope of access to research results or higher education.
At the University of Lodz, we have been disseminating issues related to open access for more than 10 years. We organise the Open Access Seminar yearly. During the seminars we discuss the current issues concerning implementation of openness in the activities of the university.
The event is organised under the patronage of the Rector of the University of Lodz.
