The relay team included: Kamil Sieradzki, Dominik Dudys, Mateusz Chowaniec representing Academic Sports Association in Katowice and Jakub Kraska who represented Academic Sports Association in Lodz. The Polish relay team was better than the Brazilians and Italians and won the highest podium and the gold medal.
I've already had the opportunity to compete abroad a few times, but this is the first time I have participated in the World University Games. As you can see, so far very successfully – we did our best with the boys. It's a great end to this whole season. I would like to distinguish Dominik Dudys, who has been taking part in a major international competition for the first time. I know that he has always believed in this success and now he has proved that if you really believe in something, you can achieve a lot
– said the gold medallist, Jakub Kraska.
The so far achievements of the white and red team include three bronze medals – for Kacper Szczurowski in judo, for Patrycja Adamkiewicz in taekwondo and the first one won by Oskar Miliwek in the 25 metre rapid fire pistol event.
Jakub Kraska is a student of the Automation of Business Processes at the Faculty of Management at the University of Lodz. "Studies and Sport at the University of Lodz" programme
University of Lodz has introduced a dual career programme for the athletes who study at our university. It provides young contenders from #UniLodz with greater flexibility in planning classes, which allows them to develop their sports career without compromising the didactic process.
The programme is available to all students regardless of the level and form of studies, whose high sports level has been confirmed by a relevant institution. The athletes are included in the programme throughout the entire period of education but can voluntarily withdraw from it at any time.
