The conference focused on contemporary development trends and challenges for logistics and supply chain management. The inaugural session drew attention to issues such as the transdisciplinarity of logistics, the impact of AI on logistics management and the sustainable transformation of logistics management. Four thematic sessions were devoted to challenges for supply chain management, air cargo transport, the transformation of urban areas, and military logistics in the context of ongoing geopolitical changes.
The conference participants included outstanding representatives of the national academic community from several research centres dealing with logistics and business, as well as representatives of other institutions where logistics activities are carried out.
Marek Matwiejuk, General Manager Poland Domestic & CEE Shorthaul C.H. Robinson, with a speech on “Optimising the supply chain using modern technologies” and Prof. Per Engelseth from UiT The Arctic University of Norway with a speech entitled “Is aquaponics a disruptive innovation in food supply networks?” were special guests of the event.
Both the presentations of the speakers and the invited panelists contributed to an in-depth discussion and exchange of views on important and current logistics topics among representatives of business and science. The main conclusions from the conference are the need for a new perspective on logistics problems from the perspective of the currently crystallising transdisciplinary logistics paradigm. The second conclusion is related to the need to initiate research on the use of artificial intelligence in logistics and supply chain management.
