– underlined the Vice-Dean for Science and Development of the Faculty at the Faculty of Management, University of Lodz – dr hab. Tomasz Czapla, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz.

During the event, participants had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the idea of the Club, presented by Kuba Wojtczak, member of the MBA Alumni Club Council.

The MBA Club is a place that we create together. We want it to be a space for support in professional development. We have many plans for the coming year, including cyclical events such as Leadership Insights, thematic webinars and the annual MBA Summit

– Kuba Wojtczak emphasised in his speech.

Dr n. med. Julita Balcerek, who is a member of the Club Council, emphasised that the Club was to be a strong platform for business networking, but also a place for substantive debate on current managerial challenges and business trends.

The special guest of the event, Szymon Midera, President of the Management Board of PKO BP, shared his path to success and his perspective on the challenges that leaders face in a dynamically changing business environment with the participants. In his speech entitled "Jak osiągać cele w biznesie?" [How to achieve goals in business] he underlined the importance of effective leadership, innovation and bold, ambitious strategic plans as the foundations for building a competitive advantage.

The Q&A session, moderated by Beata Czechulska (member of the MBA Club Council), during which participants had the opportunity to ask the President of PKO BP questions related to his experience and approach to management, was a very engaging part of the meeting. Szymon Midera, was asked, among other things, about the biggest managerial challenge he had to face in the first 100 days after taking over at PKO BP. In his response, he pointed to the necessity to quickly create a strategy and conduct an audit of the organisation in many areas. When asked what qualities and skills he considered key to be an effective leader in such a large organisation as PKO Bank Polski, he emphasized resilience to failure. In his answers, he also referred to the importance of leaders in motivating employees and direct meetings with them, especially in the context of changes and achieving bold goals.

Our Friday meeting clearly showed that MBA graduates from the Faculty of Management at the University of Lodz constitute an exceptional community of leaders representing various industries, from finance, through logistics to modern technologies. In the coming months, we will be visited by inspiring guests, representatives of C-level management, who will share their knowledge and experience on topics that are key for modern business leaders
